Frontenac Company is a Chicago-based private investment firm founded in 1971. We are currently investing from our ninth equity fund.

We invest in high-quality, closely-held companies, primarily in services businesses, through our CEO1ST investment approach: partnering with proven executives to acquire and grow successful mid-sized companies. We are patient investors, allowing the time for companies to realize their full potential.

We have extensive experience in meeting the needs of mid-sized business owners, almost always families and owner-operators, as they address complex business transition issues of liquidity, management enhancement, and growth planning. We have been involved with 200+ family business transitions over the past 40 years.

Our firm is led by five Managing Directors with over 100 years of collective Frontenac experience.
