OVERVIEW

In 2004, while pursuing financial technology services acquisitions, we were introduced to Wausau’s owner-founder, Bob Weirauch, who believed that the time was ripe for a transition to new ownership and management. But he was sensitive to the impact of a sale on the local community, where the company was a significant and highly visible employer.

Frontenac’s history and experience were convincing. We were able to offer the combination of capital and management to accomplish the desired transition. Since our 2005 acquisition, Wausau has grown significantly, with a broader product array and more favorable revenue mix.
